Fears.
I have two very weird fears.

1. I am afraid to drink water in an open glass. I am paranoid that dust will gather at the top and I will drink the dust.

2. I am afraid of ticking clocks. I didn't realize this until yesterday. I went to the Woodbury Commons with friends and we went into the Seiko outlit. The thought of being surrounded by ticking clocks nearly gave me a stoke.

What are some of your weird and un-logical fears?

1. I'm scared of geese, snakes, and KISS fans.
2. Eggplants make me blush.
3. Crosswalk signals turn me on.

We just recently had a bat problem at our house. They were in the attic, and although I think they're all gone, I've been told that bats have the ability to crawl through the small cracks underneath doors when they're closed. So now, even when I have my door shut, I'm paranoid that I'm going to see this black, furry little creature crawling underneath and getting into my room!

I'm afraid that if I go to sleep with wet hair, my pillow will absorb the moisture from my hair and then not dry out properly (because I'd be laying on it), and then the pillow would get moldy and gross and that, over time, the pillow stuffing would slowly turn completly to mold. Like, I imagine a pillow full of fuzzy green mold instead of feathers or stuffing or whatever happens to be inside.

This is why I don't sleep with wet hair.

Spiders terrify me. So do wood-ticks.

I'm sometimes afraid when I am on bridges.
When I'm driving across a bridge, I have a fear it will collapse.
When I walk across a bridge, I have a fear that I will do something really irrational and spontaneous like jump off it. I don't know why I feel I might do that. It's not a death wish. Just a fear that I will act a certain way.

Whenever I see a spider (and am not able to kill it) ...I can't go to sleep for fear of it crawling into my ear/mouth (or other orifice) and embed eggs inside of me.

Yeah, I have issues. :) Haha. I also feel all gross for about two days.

1. When I take a shower, I have to lock the door of the bathroom because I secretly fear someone will break into my house, find me in the bathroom, and rape me/murder me/tie me up/etc.

2. I absolutely, positively can NOT leave the house in the morning until I've had a shower. Emergencies can't even bring me to skip my shower. I fear being dirty/sweaty.

3. I always, always, always pay attention to the people around me when I'm in a social area. I think I'm slightly paranoid that someone is going to follow me/steal my purse/something else. I have a restraining order against an old co-worker, and I suppose his stupidity is what has made me so paranoid.

Earth worms. I'm terrified of them. Also parasites of all kinds, like leeches, tapeworms etc. I can't eat certain things because I'm convinced I won't cook it properly and get worms, and I can't go swimming in places where I know there can be leeches. :p
I'm also afraid of accidentally locking myself out. I always have to check my purse at least twice to see if the key is there, even if I remember bringing it I still don't trust myself.

I wish I had something weird to say to this, but my fears are very common. Oh wait! With one exception. Snakes. I have no problem with the big huge ones (I've held pythons even), but the itty bitty harmless garter snake scares the shit out of me.

I have this on again/off again fear of giant outdoor American flags. I have this irrational fear that they're going to fly off, cover the windshield, and end up in a fiery crash.

My biggest fear is vomit, though. I don't think that one is too terribly strange. I cannot be anywhere near it, it's insane.

I've never really given this much thought before. I know there must be something I'm afraid of, though.

And about the open glass of water thing. Is it just water that you're scared of drinking from an open glass? Because any drink can get dust in it when it's in an open glass. I completely understand that being a fear, though. That's crossed my mind a bunch of times, too. I just thought it was interesting that you singled out water.

I have to sleep with my bedroom door closed and locked. If it is a crack open I will not fall asleep.

I can not sleep with my feet hanging off the bed. I keep thinking something is going to touch my feet or pull me under the bed.

I have to open a shower curtain or door to pee in my house or anyone else. I think something is in there if I don't.

Hi. I'm fuckin nuts.

hi again. its me crazy bitch. But you have this on my mind.

I can't even squash a bug with a tissue or shoe. I have to be like a million miles away and VACUUM it with the hose. and then I leave the vacuum running for a few minutes to make sure it is IN THE BAG and not going to crawl out on the middle of the night and crawl on my face.

I am also scared of crossing major streets. The whole time I have anxiety and its not even about getting hit by a car, Its like should I stay should i go, do I go? now? now? no ok I'll stand here. Shit the light is blinking saying I can go but this car is turning...it says I cant go, but there is no car coming WHAT DO I DO!!!!!!!

don't defriend me.

:-D

I have a fear of dead bodies, but not like seeing a dead body that I am okay with at a funeral or whatever. Its dead bodies in the ocean, bay whatever. I am always afraid one is going to bump into me and my hand will go through the body. I have been a certified scuba diver since I was 12 (15 years) and I still dive and go in the ocean, but I do feel really weird about it if someone has gone missing on a fishing boat or something.

Let's see... Ever since playing The Sims for the first time, I have a feeling that's how the Greater Being handles us...

Either that or we're the characters in a greater being's dream and when that being wakes up, we'll all just disappear.

OR, maybe we're like that episode of Futurama where there was a little society on Bender's belly as he traveled the Universe...

But I'm weird like that.
